The Walker Cup is heading back to the Old Course at St. Andrews in 2023, nearly 50 years after the biennial matches were last held on the venerable Scottish links.The R&A made the venue announcement Monday, two weeks after St. Andrews was named host of The Open in 2021. This will mark the ninth time that the Old Course hosts the Walker Cup, more than any other venue, but the first since 1975 when a U.S. team led by Curtis Strange and Craig Stadler emerged victorious.The announcement continues a trend of premier destinations hosting the amateur team event between the U.S. and Great Britain & Ireland.
